Billy Joel Wembley Stadium Review
Billy Joel’s only UK date on his current tour took place on a sunny Saturday in London, where he delighted a packed crowd at Wembley. Dressed in a sharp black suit, Joel joked about the weather finally turning nice just as he was leaving after two weeks in the city. With no support act, he opened with “A Matter of Trust” and humorously admitted, “I don’t have anything new for you – it’s basically the same old s**t,” which the crowd loved. Moving to the piano for “My Life,” Joel had the audience singing and dancing to timeless hits like “She’s Always a Woman,” “Movin’ Out,” and “Uptown Girl.” Despite a few lesser-known tracks, his voice and piano playing were as strong as ever, and his playful banter kept the atmosphere warm and intimate. At 70, Joel proved he still knows how to deliver a brilliant show.
