The Racecourse

The Festival™ is a monumental event, with a staggering 40,000m² of space constructed in just four days to create the Tented Village and a towering triple-decker structure that runs alongside the racecourse. This three-storey temporary structure, located beyond the Guinness Village, is the largest of its kind in Europe. The Festival™ has only been canceled once, in 2001, outside of the World Wars, due to foot and mouth disease. Each year, around 1,000 accredited members of the press cover the event, while 250 rails bookmakers operate on-site daily, capturing the excitement and scale of this historic occasion.
