Early Years
BIGBANG was formed under YG Entertainment in 2006 through an 11-part documentary series, finalising the lineup of G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, Daesung, and Seungri. They debuted the same year with Big Bang Vol. 1 after releasing early singles.
Rise to Stardom
In 2007 and 2008, BigBang broke through with EPs Always, Hot Issue, and Stand Up. Their first major hit “Lies” launched their rise, followed by “Haru Haru” and “Last Farewell,” cementing their status as one of Korea’s biggest boy bands.
Gloabl Success
BigBang expanded into Japan and the global market with releases like Remember, Big Bang 2, and the record-breaking EP Alive, the first K-pop album to enter the Billboard 200. Their 2015–2016 MADE series topped charts worldwide and showcased their evolving blend of pop, R&B, and hip-hop.
Hiatus and Return
After years of global success, BigBang went on hiatus as members completed military service between 2017 and 2019. “Flower Road” served as a farewell track, and planned comebacks were delayed by COVID-19. They returned in 2022 with “Still Life,” their first release in years as a quartet.
