Artist Bio

Blink 182 came together in 1992 when lead singer Tom Delonge participated in a high school Battle Of The Bands competition. It was during this event that he crossed paths with drummer Scott Rayner, as well as musician Kerry Key and Kerry’s girlfriend Anne Hoppus, who happens to be none other than Mark Hoppus, the lead singer’s, sister.

In 1994, Blink 182 signed to Cargo Records and it was through this distributor that they had recorded their debut album ‘Cheshire Cat’. However, they had released the album under the name ‘Blink’, which happened to be the same name as an Irish band and consequently caused them to add the 182 at the end.

In 1996, they had released ‘Dude Ranch’ which contained their smash hit ‘Dammit’ and went on to sell 4 million copies worldwide. Around this time, drummer Scott Rayner left the band and Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge had asked the drummer of their support act ‘The Aquabats’ (Travis Barker) to fill in and this lead to a permanent position in the rock group.

Later on in their career, in 1999 they released the renowned ‘Enema Of The State’ album was released and sold 10 million copies worldwide and became their best selling album at that point. 2005 Saw the band take a hiatus for four years and release two albums with former band mate Matt Skiba on California and Nine until Tom Delonge returned in 2022.
