Artist Bio
Synth pop pioneers, the Human League, emerged as international superstars in the late 1970s. Formed in 1977 in Sheffield, England, by Martyn Ware and Ian Marsh, the duo later recruited Philip Oakey as their vocalist and adopted the name “the Human League”.
Their early career saw them releasing their first single, “Being Boiled,” in 1978, and touring with Siouxsie & the Banshees. Despite internal tensions and departures, they persevered with Oakey, bassist Ian Burden, and vocalists Susanne Sulley and Joanne Catherall. In 1981, the release of “Don’t You Want Me” and the album “Dare!” marked their breakthrough, topping the charts in the UK and the US.
Now returning to major music arenas across the UK, The Human League have a series of dates lined up at Birmingham and Manchester in December 2024; immerse yourself in nights of 80s nostalgia with official The Human League VIP tickets.
