Artist Bio

Originally starting out as The Invaders in 1976, Mike Barson, Chris Foreman and Lee Thompson, added members Graham ‘Suggs Mcpherson’, Mark Bedford, Chas Smash and Dan Woodgate, forming what we now know as ‘Madness’ in 1978.

Following their inspirations of an artist at the time ‘Prince Buster’, they released their tribute debut single ‘The Prince’ in 1979, where it reached the UK top 20 and which resulted in them signing a record contract with Stiff Records.

Their debut album ‘One Step Beyond’ peaked at number two in the UK and stayed on the charts for well over a year. For round about three years, the group saw 13 top ten singles, making Madness one of the most renowned British groups at time.

In 1982, their third album ‘Seven’ peaked at number five and was also the same year that their smash hit single ‘House Of Fun’ helped their hits compilation reach the top of the charts.

Now setting off on a brand new ‘C’est La Vie’ tour, Madness will take centre stage for a series of dates in December 2023. Immerse yourself in a night of nostalgia with classics from 70s and 80s with official Madness VIP tickets.
