Slipknot originated in Des Moines, Iowa, forming in late 1995. The nine-member lineup, featuring individuals assigned numbers zero to eight, solidified with members such as DJ Sid Wilson, drummer Joey Jordison, and lead vocalist Corey Taylor.
In 1996, they self-released “Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.,” sparking industry interest and leading to their signing with Roadrunner Records in 1997. Two years later they released their official self-titled debut album in 1999, by 2000, it was certified platinum.
Their album ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ in 2019, reached number one on both U.S. Billboard 200 and U.K. Albums Chart. Even more recently, in 2022 their album ‘The End So Far’ achieved global success, with the single “Hive Mind” earning a Grammy nomination.
