Artist Bio: Sum 41

Since their formation in 1996, Sum 41, led by vocalist/guitarist Derek Whibley, has been a force in the pop-punk scene. Originally a quartet including Dave Baksh, Cone McCaslin, and Steve Jocz, they gained attention with their energetic live shows and hits like “In Too Deep” and “Fat Lip.”

Island Records recognized their potential and signed Sum 41 in 1999, drawn by their lively performances reminiscent of blink-182. The Half Hour of Power EP and the subsequent All Killer No Filler album in 2000 solidified their place in the pop-punk scene and that saw gold and platinum certifications.

Despite their youthful exuberance, the band engaged in philanthropy, supporting causes such as War Child Canada and documenting their experiences in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The mature themes of their 2004 album, Chuck, reflected their growth as artists, with the title paying homage to a UN aid worker instrumental in their escape from conflict.

Guitarist Dave Baksh’s departure in 2006 led to a period of transition, but the band persevered as a trio before welcoming guitarist Tom Thacker into the fold. Their resilience was tested by vocalist Whibley’s health struggles, but they made a triumphant return with 2016’s 13 Voices which saw the top 10 in charts worldwide.

Their subsequent albums, including 2019’s politically charged Order in Decline, showcased their evolution as musicians unafraid to tackle weighty subjects. As they prepare to release their final album, Heaven :x: Hell, and embark on their last international tour, Sum 41 leaves behind a legacy of boundary-pushing music and enduring resilience in the face of adversity.

Hi can not rate this company high enough. Dealt with Simon today to book VIP tickets for Gary barlow. The customer service was outstanding. The communication was swift very efficient. The best company i have dealt with for concert tickets. I will most certainly be useing them for all my future concert and event bookings. From my initial enquiry, Simon Young has been so helpful and has kept me up to date and reassured me constantly through out this time of uncertainty. I have booked hospitality for a special birthday for my husband and Simon has been very helpful with guiding me though the packages and also helping me with a "gift card" that I can present to him on his b.day instead as we don't yet know when it will be rescheduled. Highly recommend the hospitality centre and Simon is very personable and helpful

Once again excellent service... always happy to help with any enquiry I have... quick, efficient and delivers my requirements without any issues. Simon has gone beyond the call of duty recently with my request of Celine Dion concert tickets. Thanks once again excellent work.
