Artist Bio

Thomas Jones Woodward was born in Pontypridd, South Wales, in 1940. He quit school at 15, worked in a variety of manual jobs, and performed in clubs at night. In 1963, he began performing with a band called The Senators, later to be discovered by his manager, Gordon Mills.

In 1965, Tom Jones released his smash hit ‘It’s Not Unusual,’ which was very well received by audiences in the UK and the US alike. The successive year saw him take home a Grammy for the best new artist. His album ‘Reload’ in 1999 peaked at number one on the UK charts, going four times platinum and achieving gold and platinum certifications in 12 other countries.

Later in his career, he saw his 2010 album ‘Praise & Blame’ debut at no. 2 on the UK album chart, helping him reach over 100 million records sold. In more recent times, his 2022 single ‘I Won’t Crumble With You If You Fall’ peaked at the UK iTunes Chart at number one within just 24 hours.
