As Ireland celebrated their back-to-back Six Nations triumphs with a gritty victory over Scotland in the 2024 championship, denying the Scots their first Triple Crown in over three decades, the anticipation for redemption on Scottish soil in 2025 looms large. Despite a valiant effort from Gregor Townsend’s men, the Irish emerged victorious, fueled by Andrew Porter’s decisive second-half try and Dan Sheehan’s opportunistic first-half score, leading to a 17 – 13 win.

The disappointment of this defeat only intensifies Scotland’s determination as they look ahead to hosting Ireland at Murrayfield in the upcoming Six Nations 2025. With the bitter taste of this loss still fresh, Scotland is poised to unleash their vengeance on home turf, seeking to turn the tables and assert their dominance in the coveted championship.

As preparations for the 2025 clash unfold, the Scottish squad will undoubtedly draw inspiration from their near-miss in Dublin, fueling their resolve to secure a triumphant victory and set the stage for a new chapter of Scottish rugby glory.
