U2 are gearing up to release a new album that promises to be a bold return to their rock roots, with frontman Bono describing it as an “unreasonable guitar record” inspired by the raw power of bands like AC/DC. After teasing the project for over a year, Bono has emphasized that the album will not only feature “big choruses” and “clear ideas” reminiscent of U2’s early work, but it will also push the boundaries of their sound. The band’s guitarist, The Edge, has reportedly crafted an extensive collection of new material, with Bono and bassist Adam Clayton eager to channel the energy of the punk and rock records that influenced them as teenagers. As Bono candidly put it, U2 must prove they still have something vital to offer, or else step aside. With this album, they aim to rekindle the passion that has driven their legendary career, infusing it with the intensity and defiance that defined their early years.
