Peterborough United made history at Wembley Stadium by becoming the first club to retain the EFL Trophy, shocking League One champions Birmingham City with a 2-0 victory. Harley Mills opened the scoring with a sublime free-kick, before captain Hector Kyprianou doubled the lead just before half-time with a thunderous strike. Despite being heavy favourites and already crowned league winners, Birmingham struggled to break down a spirited Posh side, with Jed Steer denying their few chances and Keshi Anderson blasting over their best opportunity. With almost 50 points separating the teams in the league, the upset marked a special day for Darren Ferguson’s men—earning the manager a record third EFL Trophy title.
